Thyroglobulin Antibodies
What it is
Thyroglobulin antibodies target a protein the thyroid uses to store and produce hormone, and like TPO antibodies, their presence signals autoimmune activity against the thyroid.
Why it matters
Thyroglobulin antibodies are typically tested alongside TPO antibodies rather than instead of them, since some people with autoimmune thyroid disease show one without the other. Together, the two antibody tests provide a more complete autoimmune thyroid screen than either alone, and like TPO antibodies, a positive result can appear years before it affects measurable thyroid hormone levels.
Thyroglobulin Antibodies is one of the markers in Zaro's Source panel and every tier above it.
