Complete Urinalysis with Microscopy
What it is
A urinalysis examines the physical, chemical, and microscopic properties of a urine sample, covering 14 values including color, clarity, specific gravity, pH, protein, glucose, ketones, blood, and cell counts under the microscope.
Why it matters
Urine is filtered by the kidneys, so what shows up in it, or doesn't, is a direct window into kidney function and can flag issues well before they'd show up elsewhere: protein or blood in urine can be an early sign of kidney stress, glucose can indicate a blood sugar regulation problem, and specific gravity reflects hydration status. The microscopic portion, checking for white and red blood cells, adds a layer that can point toward infection or inflammation in the urinary tract. It's a broad, low-burden screen that catches a wide range of issues in a single sample.
Complete Urinalysis with Microscopy is one of the markers in Zaro's Surface panel and every tier above it.
