Magnesium
What it is
Magnesium is a mineral involved in several hundred enzymatic reactions in the body, including energy production, muscle and nerve function, and blood pressure regulation.
Why it matters
Magnesium deficiency is common and frequently under-recognized, in part because standard blood testing only captures a small fraction of the body's total magnesium, most of which is stored in bone and muscle rather than circulating in blood. Low levels have been associated with muscle cramps, poor sleep quality, and fatigue, and magnesium status is often discussed alongside cardiovascular and metabolic health more broadly. It's a low-cost, actionable marker: a low result is one of the more directly correctable findings on a panel.
Magnesium is one of the markers in Zaro's Signal panel and every tier above it.
